As a HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR, your main responsibilities are:

  • Provide full scope Human Resources support to the HR Manager and your designated client group
  • Coordinate full cycle recruitment process with hiring managers to fill any vacant positions, including managing job postings, pre-screens, interviews , reference checks and pre-employment testing (as needed)
  • Conduct regular new employee orientation sessions for Edmonton Petroleum and Outsourced employees throughout Alberta
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Provide coaching to the management team to support areas such as staffing, performance management, employee relations, disability management, etc.
  • Act as liaison between employees and supervisors/managers to resolve performance issues
  • Administer the benefit program for the assigned client group, including the administration of short term disability, long term disability and WCB claims
  • Lead the campus recruitment program (info sessions, job fairs) to promote Maxxam’s image in the community
  • Process administrative paperwork for the assigned client group, including payroll change forms, benefits forms, security and IT access, etc
  • Act as “communication champion” to ensure that all staff are kept informed of relevant information
  • Partner with the payroll department to provide up to date employee information to ensure accuracy and timeliness in payroll transmissions and Work with payroll to answer any employee pay related queries
  • Maintain and update information in the HRIS system as required to ensure accuracy
  • Provide administrative support as required (offer letters, reports, filing etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned


You are the ideal HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR if you have:

  • Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources (diploma or degree) combined with 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources
  • CPHR designation an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook), and HRIS databases
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material in a professional manner, using tact and discretion when dealing with people
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to build positive and trusted working relationships with employees in the assigned client group who are based in multiple locations throughout Alberta
  • Excellent initiative, combined with planning, analytical and decision making skills
  • Keen attention to detail and are self-motivated with a high energy level
  • Proven ability to deal with unstructured projects, and to think creatively while incorporating projects into organizational goals
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to remote sites throughout Alberta when requested, either by driving or flying (company-paid flights)
  • Ability to work flexible shifts; the regular work hours are Monday – Friday however, when travelling to remote sites, some extended hours may be required
