CNC Operator

The CNC Set up Operator is responsible for setting up and running state-of-the-art CNC
equipment. As part of a high-performance team, he or she is responsible for part quality,
equipment maintenance and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set-up and operation of various machine-shop equipment, including CNC milling and

turning centers as well as surface grinders

  • Verification of part conformity and making process adjustments, as required
  • Being an active member of a manufacturing team; working to continually improve

  • Autonomous maintenance
Knowledge and Skills:
• Post-secondary education in Machine Shop or a related discipline

  • 1-5 years of experience in a machining environment
  • Experience with set up and operating manual or CNC equipment
  • An ability to read drawings and use precision measuring equipment to verify results
  • Strong desire for quality workmanship in a production environment
  • Good attendance and reliability

Working Conditions:
• Work involves occasional exposure to major disagreeable elements, medium risk of

injury/harm/ illness, more stringent safety measures may be needed

  • Shift rotation required
