Job Summary

Responsible for the planning, co-ordinated development, management and implementation of Transit IT &
Control Systems activities, programs, services and initiatives consistent with departmental strategic direction
and vision. The Program Manager provides professional leadership and coordination in the planning,
implementation, and administration of IT policies and programs for Transit. The Program Manager is
responsible for establishing and maintaining positive client relationships with internal and external
management and stakeholders.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and monitoring operating budgets, and for managing the human
resources of the Unit, including hiring, termination, performance management and discipline of staff as
necessary.

Education & Experience

Four (4) years honours university degree in IT Architecture, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer
Science Management Information Systems or a related, relevant field which includes a concentration in
project planning and management.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the management of complex transportation-related
IT capital projects, business analysis, and project/policy development, including directly related experience
managing project human resources, including external consultants, and working with project
budgets/financial processes.

  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for

stipulated academic requirements.
