Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage Accounts Payable and prepare cheque runs
  • Manage Accounts Receivables to keep customer accounts updated
  • Prepare invoices to customers
  • Ensure paperwork is matched and filed appropriately
  • Prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis for plant employees
  • Maintain general legers and account reconciliations
  • Assist in inventory count coordination and valuation
  • Prepare financial statements and analysis
  • Assist in building annual budget and variance analysis
  • Conduct gross margin and cost analysis
  • Prepare and review monthly PST return and PST self-assessment
  • Recommend and implement improvements in business processes and internal control procedures
  • Assist in any financial projects that may arise
  • Assist with other admin functions as required


  • Diploma or degree in Accounting
  • Intention to work towards a professional accounting designation
  • Computer proficiency with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with an accounting software package (preferably QuickBooks)
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and be self-motivated
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skill
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, and respond effectively to changing priorities
